Moab Support Forum > Epson 3880 - which print quality settings for entrada natural profile

I can't seem to be able to get a proper print on entrada rag natural with my 3880. I get what I can best describe as halos in the shadow transitions. The Moab instructions don't include which print quality setting I should choose, I've been using setting #4 (1440dpi). Is that right? Anything else I might have missed?

Thanks,
Frank

Frank-

Thank you for contacting Moab by Legion Paper support. We appreciate your business and the opportunity to serve you, our customer.

How can you describe the print quality? The print quality settings in the printer driver don't make a difference, in our opinion, as the dpi is a very very very small factor for the print quality. Using our recommended media type will make the largest difference, and you can see our recommended media type right next to the download link for each profile. You use this media type in the printer driver, which tells the printer 1) which black ink to use and 2) how much ink to use on the paper.

I hope this helps

I have same problem - I'm trying to print on your 5x7 cards and won't even let me create a small enough custom paper size with Watercolor paper you recommend. Used plain paper setting which will let me create 7x10 size and changed paper thickness and other attributes to same as watercolor, but your profile gives unacceptable result. Colors are way off and I have profiles turned off for the printer and using your profile in Lightroom. Think I'll have to create my own custom profile by printing target and scanning as I did with previous printer model which is a lot of work!!!

Tom, we do have a profile for the Ultra Premium Presentation Matte media type, which allows you to use the main media path on the 3880. Here is a link:

To be clear...

Moab is stating that Output Resolution in the print dialogue (720; 1440; 2880) , along with "Super Microweave" and "Finest Detail" checkboxes are irrelevant?

I ask because some other papers are very specific on these settings, which not following will have a poor effect on the finished print.
Thank you.
